Marci Delaney turned experiences from her corporate career into a thriving small business
By Warren Hughes
Before opening the doors 10 years ago, Delaney was a successful marketing executive for a national cosmetics firm, and she was frequently called across the country on corporate travel. At the end of an exhausting day, she learned firsthand the restorative balm of a luxury skin treatment. Leaving the demands of that career behind her, Delaney, who studied nursing at the University of South Carolina, served for a while with an ophthalmologist, providing therapeutic procedures, before becoming a licensed aesthetician with a dream of opening her own spa. Now a leader in her field, she represents aestheticians as a member of the South Carolina State Board of Cosmetology.
